It began to be celebrated en masse not so long ago: only in 2008 on the initiative of Svetlana Medvedeva, the wife of Dmitry Medvedev, who at that time held the post of President of the Russian Federation. She offered to create her own “Valentine’s Day”, which they decided to celebrate in the warm summer!

This year, the domestic “Valentine’s Day” acquired official status: President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree on June 28 - and now every year on July 8 we will honor family traditions and values.
