Urban legend says that the name “Bird” market was given because of the tradition on April 7 - the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary - to release birds, mainly pigeons, into the wild.
It is believed that “Ptichka” began its history in the Okhotny Ryad area. In 1851, the market was moved to Trubnaya Square and at the same time permanent shopping arcades were built. In 1921, the Bird Market moved to the circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard and, partially, to Konnaya Square. Moscow was growing, so “Bird” was constantly moved to the outskirts of the city. In 1938, the market moved to the Taganskaya metro area on Kalitnikovskaya Street, and in 2001 - to the territory of the Sadovod shopping center.
Today, the Bird Market is a modern, comfortable pavilion with all the necessary equipment for keeping animals, storing and selling feed, toys and accessories, clothing and goods for outdoor activities and tourism.
The Fishing and Hunting pavilion presents the entire range of products for professionals and lovers of fishing and hunting, active recreation and tourism: equipment, equipment, fishing tackle, boats, motors, fuel and gas equipment for hiking, tents and sleeping bags.
Many sellers have experience participating in professional exhibitions, regional and international competitions, so they are always ready to share secrets and advice. Here you will not only purchase the necessary equipment, but also find friends with similar interests.
In a unique specialized center for pigeon breeders, you can purchase various breeds, food and everything necessary for keeping birds. Decorative and homing pigeons are sold in Pigeon Paradise.
